Emplacement garmin nuvi 1350 sd

Jan 01, 2013 · I have added an SD card to my Nuvi 1390, because the map update is too large without it. The Nuvi doesn't recognize the SD card. I formatted the card, and tried again, but it still doesn't recognize it. It is an 8 gig card, and the Garmin site says it should work. However, I have seen other posts elsewhere on the web saying only a 2 gig card

Any further capacity on the SD card, depending on the device, can be used for other maps, pictures, MP3 files and track logs. If the map on the memory card contains more than 2025 map tiles, the device cannot read the data, even if the map size is less than 4GB. On my Nuvi 350 my SD card has a subdirectory Garmin\poi to put all the poi's I've downloaded here. On my new Nuvi 1350, what's the directory structure to put poi's on my micro SD card? I noted that the nuvi 1350 doesn't use the words "Custom POI's." It seems to use the word "Extras." Ditto for the Garmin Nuvi 42. It required the SD card to be formatted to "FAT" before it would be recognised by the unit. The file I used is a "gmapsupp.img" image file and I stored it in a folder created on the SD card called "Garmin" to allow the unit to recognise it.
